Here’s a copy of my proposal for the Open Source Culture Creator Contest v.1 ….

I will write and illustrate a book called “The Wandering Portal Emporium: Invitation and Introduction.”

Similar in concept to “Thieves’ World” created by Robert Asprin, “Wild Cards” by George R. R. Martin, or the Dungeons & Dragons Open Gaming license, this book defines a fantasy, shared-world setting.

Structured like a travel guide, I will create locations, characters, environment specifics, and information on how a creator can use this book as a reference if they wish to create related open source works.”

Mostly I’ve only written stories or only created art. This project, TWPE, will be a combo of both: writing the copy for the book and creating mixed media (and digital) art for the cover and illustrations.

And new art needs new art supplies. 😬
