Picked up this book at the library: How to Draw Without Talent by Danny Gregory. The Sketchbook Skool logo felt familiar, but it wasn’t until I was a few pages in that when he said he was Koosje Koene’s partner that I got it - I have her book on sketching.

I’ll try pretty much any book on drawing/sketching because reading and practicing the same thing presented differently often helps it click better for me.

This book has fun, quick exercises.

The second and third photos was to make marks while listening to different songs- which I found very helpful. The whole ‘make marks’ thing has always confused me. Probably because I keep wanting the marks to look like some specific thing. Playing with the pen over the paper became secondary to enjoying the song, so much more fun.

I don’t think Andor would exist without the “magical Internet”.

Star Wars came out in 1977 and fans, offline, kept it alive for decades. The Internet expanded that reach and connected folks around the world, and proved the IP owners could continue to make money by creating more content in this universe.

And now we have Andor, which can only officially be watched on a brand-dedicated, subscription, Internet-based streaming service.

9/15 of my ZBD “magical internet” song list: “Shadow Point soundtrack” by Vince Webb - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpOwwbOL5gs - I LOVED this VR game, and searched online to see if the soundtrack was available. At that time, it was not, but the composer had a few songs on his website for download, which I did. I also emailed him asked when the soundtrack would be out. He said they were working on it and he’d let me know.

Months go by, and I listen to those few songs over and over. Then I get an email from Vince that the soundtrack is out and I immediately buy it.

That’s definitely a magical Internet for me.

Zoe’s music box theme starts at 5:45 and is one of my favorite tracks.

Music is not a big part of my life, but I wanted to give the ZBD Internet Vibes Playlist Contest a try.* Thought this was a good one for Monday morning: “One Hour Dancing Zemo” by Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and The Winter Soldier - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nEzCv5u1O8

A short clip in a TV show became an hour long video due to fan demand and someone at Marvel who recognized an opportunity. A perfect example of the “the magical internet.”

I’ll have this on repeat, loud, in the background when I have a headache and need to get something done.
