(Almost) final glitter snowflakes! I want to spray them with a fixative to keep the glitter from glittering the living room. Once that’s done, a bit of string and they will be ready to hang on the tree. 👍❄️🎄

It’s interesting, some of the designs I didn’t like after I cut them look so much better with glitter.

Paper Snowflake Follow-up #2: glitter on one side. I watered down the liquid gel medium too much on the top left curly one. Used straight out of the bottle for the rest of them. All need a bit of touch up. Really happy with how well the origami paper (2 large at the bottom) held up, so I’ll be using that when I cut some more tonight.

Going to try gel matte medium for the backs, see if it gives better coverage.

I’m using Marblers brand of glitter which is super fine … and like all glitter, gets everywhere. But this is a good time of year to be sparkly. ✨❄️🎄

Paper Snowflakes Follow-up #1: Using 3” and 4” squares of 20 lb. copy paper - worked well but cutting the folded thickness quickly became too much for my hand. The two larger snowflakes near the bottom are from 6” origami paper - much easier to cut folded.

Also discovered I really like a lot of holes in my snowflake designs. ❄️

Next step is to add glitter to both sides … and hope the origami paper can handle it.

Going to have a table-top Christmas tree this year. I want to make glitter paper snowflakes for the decorations, and was googling for patterns, etc. Hit some links on YouTube and wow, snowflakes have gotten intense since I was a kid. 0.0;
