This is Kenneth Branagh’s third movie as Hercule Poirot (Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile - they don’t have to be watched in order, but his mustache gets smaller if you do ;). I really enjoy these, as much for the story as Branagh’s utter love and craftsmanship of the art of film - every scene is like a painting. He does a lot more with camera lenses in Haunting than the others, but it fits the story because the palazzo itself is a character (much like how the Serenity spaceship was a character in the Firely TV series) and you feel as if you get the building’s POV in some scenes.

I bought the movie on iTunes, and there’s a 25 minute behind-the-scenes featurette included (DO NOT WATCH before you watch the movie!!!). The info about how the seance was filmed was fun.
