Local quilt store had a parking lot De-stash Bash where folks set up tables selling all manner of fabrics. Perfect for me, as I need scrap size, not fat quarter size.

Good thing my Browncoat messenger bag is so formless as I stuffed it to almost-overflowing. 👍

Took some artistic liberties with the cover flap in my drawing because I didn’t want to attempt the text.

Birthday All Week: Monday - hit up 2 different quilt stores looking for fabric to use in the artist collaboration I mentioned a few days ago. Found a “layer cake” - the 10” x 10” pack of the same design in different colors that will be perfect for backgrounds. Also “poppers” - little rolls of scrap fabric in patterns that are great for details, although I have no idea what I’m going to use that hot pink one for but I liked it.

The 5” x 5” square “charm” pack has lovely, dark blue (my fav color) astronomy and astrology patterns and that was a total treat-myself birthday buy. 🎂🥳

And a pair of scissors I will dedicate to only cutting fabric, because all my other scissors have already been dulled on paper.

Slow stitching kit progress (more images in replies) - the water-erasable fabric pen worked just like lady at the quilt store said it would. 🎉

1) outline paper pieces on fabric
2) count out fabric pieces
3) add water to magically erase blue outline!
And then repeat for all other pieces 👍

Slow stitching kit progress: I made a copy of the pattern and cut it up so I could place each paper piece on the fabric bits. This lets me plan which patterns end up where in the final design. The instructions present the process as much more free form, but I haz to plan. 😬
