Finished a grid of 3 in x 3 in (7.62 cm x 7.62 cm) collages after watching Margarete Miller video - highly recommend her if you want to get into paper collage -> https://m.youtube.com/c/MargareteMiller

Really like how these came out. Different yet cohesive.

Second photo is the 3 papers I started with from my mom’s junk mail and the focal points I pulled from a 1974 Webster’s illustrated dictionary.

Rest of the photos show the process a using a Stabilo All Black pencil to scribble, then brush with water, to create the background… which is why the paper is so warped as it’s meant for sketching not mixed media.

Going to try and flatten the collages under some heavy books this afternoon.

When you’re playing around with torn paper collage and can’t decide which version to glue down so you take photos of the variations because looking at a photos feels different than looking at the paper and you realize you took the same configuration twice so you must really like that one.
