Travelled to visit an art gallery that had a collection of Canadian wildlife artist Robert Bateman’s work. Early (age 14) stuff up through recent years. He’s 94 and still painting.
The gallery was mostly empty on a Friday morning. The curator of the exhibit was there and asked if I wanted a tour - hell yes! So awesome to see not only the paintings but to also hear the thoughts and process that went into how they were displayed - order, groups, position within the exhibit…. if you stood in a specific spot, you could see 4 paintings that featured trees that spanned across decades of Bateman’s life, all slightly different, but similar in theme and colors.
