This week in hand lettering class…

This week in hand lettering class we are to write out individual letters, focusing on the shapes and variations. Then, go look at examples of hand written fonts and document any letters that look good/fun to us.

This was actually a lot of fun - studying a single letter in terms of the lines that make it into the recognizable form we understand as a specific letter. And how far can you push or distort those lines until it’s no longer recognized as a letter.

Also discovered I prefer straight to curvy lines, and letters with a bit of angle to them. Will be interesting to see how the other letters come out.
