No VAT number needed. Based on this Help article (https://support.threadless.com/article/69-why-was-i-charged-sales-tax) it looks like VAT gets charged to some customers in some countries, but that’s a Threadless thing, not an artist thing.

US citizens and resident aliens have to fill out a W-9 tax form, so that’s full name, address, EIN/SSN, etc.

They pay via Paypal … who will provide the IRS earnings info if above a certain amount.
